These data protection provisions regulate the processing of personal data when visiting the website of audifon GmbH & Co. KG ("audifon" or "we") and interaction with users* (or "you") of this website. This privacy statement applies only to content on audifon's servers and does not include the Internet pages linked to audifon's website.

2. Data processing when visiting audifon's website
a. Log data (server log files)
Whenever you visit our web pages, data is automatically collected about this access to our website offering ("server log files"). This data includes: Name of the web page viewed, date and time of viewing, URL of call, language of browser, browser version, browser name, user's operating system, mobile or desktop version, volume of data transmitted, notification of successful viewing, referrer URL (the page previously visited), IP address and the requesting provider.
Purposes of data processing and duration of storage:
We use log data solely for statistical analyses for the purposes of operation and security and to optimise the offers on this website.
It is necessary for the system to store the IP address so that the website can be made available to the user's computer. To this end, the IP address of the user needs to remain stored for the duration of the session. After the session ends, the IP address is stored in truncated form.
Storage in log files is carried out to ensure the functionality of the web pages. We also use the data to optimise our website and guarantee the security of our IT systems. No analysis of data for marketing purposes takes place in this context.
Legal basis for data processing:
The legal basis for temporary storage of the data and log files is Art. 6 para. 1 point (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest on the part of audifon lies in ensuring the functionality, security and improvement of the website.
b. Use of cookies and tracking technologies
Data collected:
Cookies are set whenever you visit audifon's web pages. They are little text files placed on the user's terminal device. Cookies generally contain a cookie ID, i.e. a unique identifier that allows the user's browser to be identified.
Purposes of data processing:
audifon uses cookies only to obtain information about the usage of its web pages and for statistical purposes.
Legal basis for data processing:
The legal basis for the processing of personal data with the use of cookies is Art. 6 para. 1 point (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest on the part of audifon lies in the optimisation and improvement of web page performance, target group customisation of the client approach and improvement of the end user experience.
Basic information on storage period and control options for users:
Cookies are stored on the user's computer and from there transmitted to audifon. This means you also have full control over the use of cookies. Most browsers are set automatically to accept cookies. If wished, you can however configure your browser by editing your browser settings so that cookies are restricted or blocked altogether. Previously stored cookies can be deleted at any time, including automatically.

Google Universal Analytics
The audifon website uses Google Universal Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). Google Universal Analytics sets cookies on the user's terminal device. They allow it to analyse usage of audifon's website and to associate data, sessions and interactions across several devices to a pseudonymous user ID and so evaluate the activities of a user over multiple devices. Google will use this information on audifon's behalf for the purpose of evaluating usage of the website, compiling reports on website activity and for providing other services relating to website activity and Internet usage vis-à-vis audifon.
We have extended Universal Analytics to include the code "get._anonymizeIP();". This means that Google truncates your IP address and enables anonymised evaluation. The information generated by the cookie is generally transmitted to and stored by Google on a server in the USA. IP addresses are truncated within member states of the EU or the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the complete IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with any other data held by Google.
Sessions and campaigns will be terminated at the end of a specific time period. Sessions are terminated as standard after 30 minutes without any activity and campaigns after six months. The time limit for campaigns is a maximum of two years. The data transmitted by ourselves and linked with cookies, user identifiers (e.g. user ID) or advertising IDs are automatically deleted after 50 months. Data whose retention period has expired is automatically deleted once a month. You can prevent the storage of Universal Analytics cookies by selecting the appropriate setting on your browser, but this may restrict the functionality of audifon's web pages. You can also prevent capture of the data generated by cookies and relating to your usage of the website (incl. your IP address) by Google and its processing by Google by downloading and installing the browser add-on available via the following link https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Instead of using the browser add-on or visiting the audifon website with a mobile terminal device, you can also prevent capture by Google Analytics by clicking on this button [ Google Analytics deaktivieren ]. To prevent capture by Universal Analytics across different devices, you must select opt-out on all systems used.

Additional Google advertising functions implemented
Besides the standard version of Google Analytics, we also use the Google advertising function Google Analytics Demographics and Interests reports. To this end, Google sets what are known as double-click cookies on user browsers. They collect data indicating which websites of third-party providers in the Google Display network are visited by users and what advertising they clicked on. They allow specific features (e.g. age, sex, interests) to be associated with the users of audifon's web pages. Such reports do not however enable audifon to personally identify users.
We use this information to customise our approach more closely to our target groups.

3. Data processing with user interaction
Data collected and purposes of processing
audifon processes personal data of users if they interact with audifon via the options described below. The data processed and the purpose of data processing depend on the specific interaction and are indicated in the following information.
Legal basis for data processing
Personal data is processed by audifon only where volunteered to audifon by users together with their consent to processing.
The legal basis for processing of the data is Art. 6 para. 1 point (a) GDPR.
Duration of storage
The data transmitted by users in the context of such interaction will be stored in the central customer database until revocation of this consent. Storage may continue beyond the date of revocation where legal retention periods exist in relation to this data, the prerequisites of Art. 17 para. 3 GDPR apply or where its use is permitted for other purposes.
Contact by telephone
Users can give their consent to being contacted by telephone at various points on this Internet site. They are obliged to ensure that the telephone number they supply is attributable to themselves as its owner.
Disclosure of data to third parties
Disclosure of data to third parties who are not service providers of audifon in context of processing does not take place. Personal data is transferred to website and Cloud service providers in the context of data processing.
Client database
The data captured in the framework of the following contact options is stored in the central customer database and is utilised to contact the user – where consent has been given – for the provision of further personalised customer care tailored to individual user needs. Where you consent to being contacted by telephone, please also read the information under "Contact by telephone".
Revocation of consent
You can amend or revoke the consent given in the context of the following contact options for the collection and further use of your personal data at any time, without stating your reasons with future effect, by writing to the data protection officer, either at audifon GmbH & Co. KG, Datenschutzbeauftragter, Werner-von-Siemens-Str.2, D - 99625 Kölleda or via an e-mail addressed to Datenschutzbeauftragter(at)audifon.com. The lawfulness of previous data processing operations remain unaffected by revocation.
Individual contact options:
The personal data transmitted by users is processed by audifon at the following points and for the following purposes:
Newsletter
When the audifon newsletter is requested by the user, users are obliged to state their e-mail address. Further particulars which can be provided here (title, first name, last name, company, customer number, function) are optional.
After requesting the newsletter, users will receive a confirmation e-mail to the address they have given. They must then click on the link included in the confirmation e-mail to have the newsletter sent out them in future. Such confirmation ensures that the user is the owner of the e-mail address given and consents to receive the newsletter.
The data is collected for the purpose of sending out the newsletter to the user and documents audifon's authorisation to do so.
The consent granted can be revoked at any time with future effect by using the link "Newsletter abbestellen" (Cancel Newsletter), which is included with every newsletter e-mail.
General contact queries
Users can also send general contact queries to audifon. When making such contact queries, users will be asked to state their first and last name and their e-mail address. Further particulars which can be provided here (company, street, postcode, city, telephone, fax, mobile, department) are optional.
The above data is collected for the purpose of dealing with the user's query.
4. Your rights
Users of audifon's website hold a right to access (Art. 15 GDPR) in relation to their personal data stored by audifon. They are furthermore entitled to request that any incorrect and/or incomplete personal data stored by audifon about themselves is either rectified (Art. 16 GDPR), erased (Art 17 GDPR) or its processing restricted by audifon (Art. 18 GDPR), in accordance with the customer's preference. Customers moreover have the right to revoke their consent to the processing of their personal data at any time with future effect (Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR) and in certain circumstances to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). Users additionally hold the right to data portability as defined by Art 20 GDPR. Customers who wish to assert the above rights can contact audifon's data protection officer directly by e-mail (for contact details, see item 1), stating their name and address. Customers are lastly entitled to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if they believe that the processing of this data infringes the General Data Protection Regulation.
